Is it possible to have a period when you're already pregnant?

Can you get pregnant while on your menstrual period?

Answer: Some women do experience bleeding during pregnancy, but technically it is not a menstrual period. However, this bleeding can seem to coincide with a woman's normal cycle, so it can be confusing.

A very light or short "period" or spotting is one of several common early symptoms of pregnancy.

Bleeding during pregnancy can also indicate that you are miscarrying. Please consult a doctor or midwife if you believe you could be in danger of miscarriage (and be sure to eat well and get plenty of rest).

If you think you might be pregnant, please contact us about a free pregnancy test.
